MARINA ADAMS

MARINA ADAMS is a painter based in both NYC and Parma Italy.  She earned degrees from Tyler School of Art, Temple University and Columbia University.
 
In Summer 2021, Adams had solo exhibitions at Stephen Friedman Gallery, London (U.K.); and Galerie von Bartha, S-Chanf (CH). Later, in the fall, Adams will have another solo exhibition at Stephen Friedman Gallery, London. In Spring 2021, Adams was featured in a solo exhibition at the Journal Gallery, New York (NY); she will also be featured in two group exhibitions: Shapes at Alexander Berggruen, New York (NY) in April; and Affinities for Abstraction: Artists on Eastern Long Island 1950 to 2020 at the Parrish Art Museum, Water Mill (NY) in May. Adams was previously the subject of FOCUS: Marina Adams at The Modern Art Museum, Fort Worth (TX) in 2020. Other recent group exhibitions include Good Pictures, curated by Austin Lee, at Jeffrey Deitch, New York (NY) in 2020; (Nothing But) Flowers at Karma Gallery, New York (NY) in 2020; and Making & Unmaking, curated by Duro Olowu, at the Camden Arts Center, London (U.K) in 2016. Adams is the recipient of the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Fellowship (2016) and the Award of Merit Medal for Painting from the American Academy of Arts and Letters (2018).
