NANCY AZARA

Nancy Azara is interested in time in relation to memory, personal history and her own mortality. In this suite of aquatints, she uses the leaf as a recurring theme; as a metaphor, a self portrait, a "stand in " for herself.

Azara exhibits nationally and internationally. Her work has been shown at the AIR Gallery, Dumbo, NY; St. Ann & the Holy Trinity Church, Brooklyn Heights, NY; Saci Gallery, Florence, Italy; Andre Zarre Gallery, NYC; Froelick Gallery, Portland, Oregon and the SANYI Museum in Taiwan. Group shows have included "How Women Artists Invented Post-Modernism," Rutgers University exhibition Traveling Exhibit; the Regina Rex Gallery, NYC; and Asya Geisberg Gallery, NYC
