LORRAINE WILLIAMS

Lorraine Williams has been making art from an early age and attended Art and Design High School and the School of Visual Arts in New York City. She spent thirteen years as an art director, illustrator and graphic designer before turning her full attention to painting. She is currently represented by Tobey Fine Arts. Her rich, luminous abstractions have been exhibited internationally, most recently in Moscow, Russia. Her work with Van Deb Editions is her first experience in printmaking. She lives and works in Brooklyn, NY.

Artist Statement: What can you say about subtle fleeting emotions that are nevertheless important? Ebb and flow are key to all hope and conscious striving, no matter how self-possessed we try to act. Abstract paintings are windows on a subjective place and experience beneath the phenomenal world, where beauty and feeling exist without sadness.
